It was determined at the pharmacy that the price for that specific prescription, on that specific day, was better than the discounted price offered with card use. Either way, you, the cardholder, always get the best price possible from the pharmacy handling your prescription order.

Prescription drug prices are different from pharmacy to pharmacy. Even chains have different prices in their stores depending on the population they are servicing. Additionally, prices of prescription drugs from the manufacturers change periodically.

The pharmacist may have misunderstood the program you are using. There are cash-type programs that reimburse later, but those are funded plans. As a consumer card user, the member is responsible for 100% of the cost (less discount) at the point of sale. It is also possible that the pharmacy decided to no longer participate in the RxSavings Plan. With thousands of pharmacies in the program, there is always a chance of some change.

The pharmacist may have misunderstood the program you are using. There are cash-type programs that require paper submission. As long as you present your card, every time you visit the pharmacy, then the pharmacist will process the claim and paper will not be required. There are no paper claim transactions under this program.

Pharmacies typically allow one type of discount per visit. The pharmacist will run your Caremark card and determine which price is better for you, the customer. Either way, you always get the best price possible by showing your RxSavings Plan card.

The card covers the entire family, but you may want to get separate cards for each family member. If this scenario occurs, please ask the pharmacist to run the card again.

First, please accept our apology. Each pharmacy in our network has a contract with Caremark. It is possible that the person you spoke with either made a mistake, or was unaware of this network. It is also possible that the pharmacy decided to no longer participate in the RxSavings Plan. With thousands of pharmacies in the program, there is always a chance of some change.

Please call Caremark at 1-800-238-2623. We'll be happy to contact the provider for you and straighten out the problem or provide a pharmacy close to you that accepts the RxSavings Plan.

The pharmacist may not have run the card correctly. Depending on the information they have in their system, they may think you are already a member and utilize your old information. This is why it is important to present your card every time and see to it the pharmacist runs it appropriately.
